I loved this page. Our son & family moved to Retford 3 yrs ago and I am very interested in the mining past of the area. So far I have seen a few reminders, but anything more about the miners’ lives would be so interesting to me. It’s amazing to imagine what it must of been like in the mines. I would love to read much more about the lives of the miners. I have been on trips out in the car and shown a miners’ village. Any more info would be very gratefully received

Thanks Maureen – glad you liked our site and this page. Our project is just drawing to a close and so hopefully we will be able to update the pages with more video, poems, songs and other content. It is intended that the DVDs we produce of the interviews with the miners from our 6 communities will be in their local libraries. Ann
